All Day MIOSHA - MTI Level One S&H General Industry Boot Camp (Multi-Day Event)
MTI Boot Camp has been especially prepared for those students who have not taken any MTI courses previously and have an interest in improving their knowledge of safety and health in the workplace. The courses, taught entirely by experienced MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training (CET) consultants, provide continuing education credits and maintenance points as well as an opportunity for students to be recognized for their educational efforts and increased technical expertise.

Level One courses are designed for safety and health coordinators, committee members, and others interested in general safety and health information. Level One allows the participant to begin the process of developing a safety and health management system while becoming familiar with MIOSHA Standards and other relevant topics. Upon successful completion of the Boot Camp, participants will earn the MTI General Industry Level One certificate.

4:00 PM - 7:00 PM AIDS: The Truth Behind an Epidemic

AIDS: The Truth Behind an Epidemic is an informative and interactive workshop for AIDS awareness, including candid discussions and scenario role-playing. The goal of this presentation is to educate and enlighten individuals on facts versus perceived views centered on HIV/AIDS. Macomb Community College faculty member Kathleen Gerus and special guest lecturer Leon Golson will present.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and more than 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their infection. African Americans represent 12% of the U.S. population but accounted for 41% of the people living with HIV infection in 2011. This workshop will present additional pieces of information to modernize our approach to learning about HIV/AIDS.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM Selective Admission Seminar Programs - Center
If you are interested in learning about applying to Macomb's Selective Admission programs, this seminar is for you.  Find out about pre-requisites, grade point average requirements, testing requirements, deadlines, etc.

This seminar will present the important facts about applying to the Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, and/or Veterinary Technician programs.

Students interested in Radiologic Technology, Health Information Technology or Surgical Technology, should meet with an Academic Advisor to discuss details about the program.  Seating is limited, so please call early for your reservation.
