All Day Culinary Regions of the United States: Cultural Exhibit (Multi-Day Event)

The Culinary Arts program prepares students for technical and managerial careers in restaurants, catering, and instructional food services. The Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts and the Certificate in Culinary Arts: Culinary Management, are accredited by the American Culinary Foundation education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). With their practical skills and creative talent, Macomb culinary students and graduates have landed jobs at premier establishments, and have brought home 25 medals from the prestigious International Culinary Olympics held every four years in Germany.

In their eighth semester of creating an exhibit, the MCCA International Kitchen course presents: Culinary Regions of the United States.

Begin at the Library lobby and retrieve a map of the exhibit, which is stationed in multiple areas on the first and second floors. At each station, read about the cuisine, customary recipes, ingredients, and all aspects of food culture related to one of the 50 states. Locations include: Southwest, Floridian, Louisiana Creole, and the Rust Belt.

Two hours of MMII credit will be awarded for answering questions pertaining to all exhibit poster boards on each floor. When finished, the forms can be placed in the marked box located at the end of the exhibit.
