All Day The Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives Exhibit: Celebrating 10 Years (Multi-Day Event)
Now in their 11th year, the Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives (MMII) was established to create a dialogue on campus of cultural and societal themes, with the hopes of participants gaining global awareness, valuing diversity, and showing empathy towards the marginalized. This exhibit includes banners displaying the growth of MMII over the past 10 years, from both the perspective of participant attendance and commitment from College personnel. The diversity spectrum covered by MMII programming will be exhibited to reflect on the broad understanding the College has of the student, community and international population. The purpose of the exhibit is to celebrate what we have achieved, and to consider areas of needed exploration.

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Midnight in Paris (2011): Film Viewing
Gil Pender is a screenwriter and aspiring novelist. Vacationing in Paris with his fiancée, he has taken to touring the city alone. On one such late-night excursion, Gil encounters a group of strange - yet familiar - revelers, who sweep him along, apparently back in time, for a night with some of the Jazz Age's icons of art and literature. The more time Gil spends with these cultural heroes of the past, the more dissatisfied he becomes with the present.
The film viewing of Midnight in Paris is an opportunity to familiarize oneself with the Modernism movement in preparation for the Michigan Opera Theatre's performance of 27 (an opera based on the lives of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas) at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, March 10, and Sunday, March 11, 2018. For more information, please visit www.michiganopera.org.
