10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Identifying Mental Health Needs on Campus: Student Seminar
Speaker: Karen Wickline

Take a peek inside any college classroom and you probably would not be surprised to see anxious students. But when does everyday anxiety become a problem? For many young adults, college is the time when mental health issues emerge. Millions of students across college campuses struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other health issues, and often others are unaware. Karen Wickline, Macomb Community College Professor of Psychology, will explore the signs and symptoms of mental illness in the college environment, and lead a dialogue with students regarding on-campus and outreach resources for those in need.
Sponsored by the Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives (MMII).
