11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Macomb County Youth Literature Art: Creative Project and Book Donation
Join Macomb Community College’s students, staff, faculty and county residents as we collaborate with the Eastpointe Public Library on an important literacy event.
Love of reading is often developed in one’s youth, and quite often visits to the local public library may foster that love. An essential component to reading comprehension, plot understanding and the passion of dreaming a story “to life” is the ability to picture the characters, setting and scene.
In this creative opportunity, participants will assist in the design and construction of small pictorial scenes common in youth literature: pastorals, castles, animals in nature, winter wonderlands, travel and exploration, and history and culture found within Macomb County. Upon completion, the pieces will be donated to the Eastpointe Public Library for youth literacy events. Please bring a children’s book to donate to the library, if you are inclined.
