We gave partnered with Tesla, manufacturer of electric vehicles, to launch an automotive training program called Tesla START. 

Learn more about this new 12-week technical training program at an information session on June 26.

Tesla START is an intensive training program designed to provide you with the skills necessary for a successful career with Tesla as an electric vehicle service technician. The Macomb Community College Men’s Basketball Program is holding its annual High School Boys Basketball Team Camps from June 18–21, 2018 and June 25–27, 2018.

Varsity Team Camp
◊ High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team Camp Monday, June 18–Thursday, June 21, 2018. Each team is guaranteed 8 games (2 per night). Games will start hourly at 3:30–10 pm. The cost of the camp is $450.

J.V. Team Camp
◊ High School J.V. Boys Basketball Team Camp will run Monday, June 25–Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Each team is guaranteed 4 games (2 per night). Games will start hourly from 3:30–10 pm. The cost of the camp is $300.

If you sign your teams up for both the Varsity and JV camps, you will receive a discounted rate ($675 for both camps, a $75 discount.)  Register using the attached form.

Job Safety Analysis (JSA) has been identified as a key component in an effective Safety and Health Management System.  Training will provide attendees with the tools and knowledge required to prioritize, create, use, and review a JSA program to enhance their overall Safety and Health Management System.  In addition, worksite analysis is one of the five required elements used to judge a company’s readiness for inclusion in the prestigious Michigan Voluntary Protection STAR program.  The JSA training will help participants justify the need for a hazard identification program to their upper management and create buy-in from production employees.

This course will provide an overview of both the construction and general industry rules related to confined space and permit-required confined spaces.  Examples of actual spaces will be used to clarify the definition and facilitate proper identification of confined space versus permit-required confined spaces.  The three means of entering a permit-required confined space are described in Part 35, 90, and 490.  These will be discussed along with their correct implementation.  This course also includes an introduction to the principles of air monitoring and ventilation of confined and permit-required confined spaces.

This seminar is designed to give participants an understanding of the requirements of MIOSHA’s Part 380 - Occupational Noise Exposure.  Topics covered include: definition of noise; hearing loss and how it can occur; determining when and why to conduct noise monitoring; determining when a Standard Threshold Shift (STS) occurs and when to record it on the 300 log, noise training requirements, noise control technologies and how to select proper hearing protection.  Participants will have “hands-on” opportunities to use noise dosimeters/sound level meters and calibrators and assess noise levels associated with actual noise sources.
